We were created in pairs

In Islam, marriage is important because we were created in pairs to find peace, love, and spiritual growth together. Here are key reasons why marriage is valued:

  1. Fullills a Natural Need – Allah says: “And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them…” (Qur’an 30:21)

  2. Preserves Modesty and Morals – Marriage protects against zina (fornication) and helps keep society pure.

  3. Builds Family and Community – It’s the foundation for raising righteous children and creating strong families.

  4. A Sunnah of the Prophet – The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Marriage is part of my sunnah, and whoever does not follow my sunnah has nothing to do with me.” (Ibn Majah)

  5. Brings Peace and Mercy – Allah places love (mawaddah) and mercy (rahmah) between spouses to help them grow in faith and companionship.
